This is the second of my collector's bags. It is very much its own being. I really wanted to make a black version of the collectors pouch, to get that deep contrast that I love. Little fabric collages and symbols adorn each pocket.

While I'm making these new bags I'm having so much fun. Letting myself play with scraps and shapes until I gasp in pleasure of the little formation that I created and it gets pinned. The abstract shapes let the subconscious play with the meaning.
 
A lot of these scraps and shapes came from making my eco-print frogs, which is a nice layer of meaning for the foundation of this bag. 

It is made with a black linen, and lined with a ivory silk charmeuse. The outer portion is made of a beautiful fabric which I printed twice. Some of the prints were washed out, but with the double printing and avocado dye, it gave it such a dreamy texture to the colors, that I think really got to live up to its earthy beauty in this bag. 

It is padded with a flannel, with the additional padding at the base of the bag.
