This is my *other* absolute favorite pieces of art that came out of my first explorations. This one is such a simple but beautiful design that celebrates the earth, and the water, and in a way, the sky. Plants featured in these print cut-offs include Sword fern, whose spores can be seen immortalized within the cotton fabric print at the bottom, and behind the dancing, flying fish, is a dove's foot cranesbill print. Willowherb and the warm tones of onion print make the very background one a piece of some of the first cotton gauze fabrics I eco-printed. 

The fish are wood block printed with my handmade oak gall ink recipe, adding yet another rich layer of natural beauty and history to this piece. 
 
A beautiful, branching japanese maple stick holds this piece at the top. I sawed this piece off from a fallen branch on my property.

At the bottom I hung three quartz points. The central point is accompanied by a tiny green peridot crystal bead. The way I had refined my thread technique to hang the little crystals at the bottom, is that I actually twist the thread before securing it back up into the piece, which essentially turns the thread into a little yarn of its own. You can see in the last photos how that little peridot had migrated itself downwards during all the fiddling of the shoot, and too much of my attention was being taken by my sore arm which was holding these pieces way above my head to capture the last bit of sunlight coming through my cherry tree to get this photo, for me to notice! :) This is easy to adjust when you're hanging your piece!

To hang your piece you can choose to use one or two small thumbtacks or picture nails just beneath the stick, or use the twine included in your purchase to fasten and adjust it's height to your preference for hanging!
