This is a gorgeous, handstitched, and scrappy bag! A little fish on the back makes up the soul of the bag, surrounded by an organically growing blanket stitch, done with black cotton hand quilting thread. Little pearls and orange glass beads fill in the spaces of the web, like little shimmering scales. I've stitched little colorful, yet subdued, and textured fabric scraps all over the bag, which is always so much fun to arrange and sew!
I lined the bag with a kona cotton fabric that I mordanted with iron (ferrous sulphate) and eco-printed in the fall with bitter dock root, and blackberry roots and leaves. That particular fabric I refer to as my 'fairy fabric' because of all of the figures and faces I got out of the mirroring from folding and bundling it! Consider that as a major contributor to the soul of this pouch :)
The closure is a sewn-in gold 15mm magnetic snap, which makes opening and closing this bag super easy and satisfying!
