This is a Japanese knot bag, made with a gorgeous, subtle purple eco-print linen I made this fall. The linen I made for this bag has a rich medley of botanicals from around my property. The species include, blackberry, dogwood, fern, bitter dock root, and mini rose. I stacked cedar on top of some of the leaves and was so pleasantly surprised to see because of the acid content within them, they acted as a resist and left beautiful light orange silhouette on the leaves they were placed over.
 
A trailing blackberry vine runs up the left side, and is mirrored by some block print stamping across from it. For the stamping on this bag, I used my handmade oak gall ink, which I combine with a fabric paint medium which makes the stamping washfast. 
 
The lining is a black soft twill Tencel fabric.
